"7 BEGGARS":
TIM BARSKY'S NEW SOLO SHOW

"Barsky lays down intoxicating sounds as gravelly and aggressive as they are mellifluous."
-Chloe Veltman, SF Weekly

"Barsky's restless meditation on love and war has the force of an authentic, passionate distress behind it."
- Rob Avila, SF Bay Guardian

tim barsky7 Beggars is a modern retelling of Reb Nachman's 19th century epic folktale, first told in 1809, and long considered the crown jewel of the Jewish folkloric tradition. Combining hip-hop theatre, beatboxing, and live instrumentation, Tim spins a very urban version of this tale of beggars, dreamers, and revolutionaries seeking love and justice against the darkly illuminated background of a world at war. Featuring live accompaniment by multi-instrumentalist Brandi Brandes on vibraphone, drums, and loops.
